1st Management Committee Meeting

We are pleased to inform you that the kick-off meeting of the Management Committee for the new COST Action FP1006 "Bringing new functions to wood through surface modification" was successfully started in April 2011. 21 partipants from 16 different European countries attended the meeting which was held in the COST Office in Brussels. So far, 13 countries have signed the Memorandum of Understanding and 6 countries have indicated their intention to sign it.

In the course of this kick-off meeting Stefanie Wieland, Senior Researcher of the Department of  Forest Products Technology & Timber Constructions at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences was nominated as Chair of Action by the Management Committee, Bartlomiej Mazela of the Poznan University of Life Sciences (PL) as Vice-Chair and the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences was appointed Grant Holder.

Stefanie Wieland is pleased about the successful start and is looking forward to coordinating the scientific and technical cooperation in the field of pre-competitive research in "Bringing new functions to wood through surface modification" during the next four years together with the members of COST Action.
