The Seventh European Conference on Wood Modification ECWM7

The European Conference on Wood Modification is now firmly established as the premier event dedicated to all global wood modification technologies. This conference, the seventh in the series, provides a forum for members of research organisations and companies to learn about the latest developments in this rapidly changing field.

The conference will cover thermal, oleothermal, mechanothermal, chemical, impregnation modifications, as well as emerging technologies (microwave, rf, plasma, enzymatic, etc.) as well as dedicated sessions to COST Actions and a special session on how architects use modified wood.

There will also be sessions dealing with testing methods and standards, environmental issues, and various aspects of commercialisation, as well as our renowned poster presentation sessions.

We look forward to meeting you in Lisbon and experiencing the most exciting and inspiring ECWM7 meeting.

Call for Abstracts

The organising committee of ECWM7 would be pleased to receive high quality papers on all subjects concerned with wood modification. Oral and poster presentations will cover the following topics:

• Fundamental research
• Standards and testing
• Process requirements & performance
• Product development & commercialisation
• Environmental issues
• Market potential.

A special session will be held on the first day dedicated to architectural needs and uses of modified wood.

Submission of Abstracts

Abstracts should be submitted by email to the Local Organisers (ecwm7(at)lnec.pt) no later than 30 September 2013. Abstracts must be in Microsoft Word format (.doc or .docx ONLY).

The official language of the conference will be English.

Conference fees

• 400 EUR for Early birds (08 February 2014)
• 450 EUR for late registrants
• 250 EUR for students (a copy of supporting documentation is required)

Conference fee includes: admission to all scientific sessions, book of abstracts and conference  proceedings, welcome party, coffee breaks, two lunches, conference dinner. Accompanying persons are also welcome. Please ask for details. 

A special one day fee (100 EUR) will also be arranged for those wishing to attend the architectural needs and uses session only.

Accomodation and travel

There will be many hotels of different categories available close to the venue and within the city centre. Those within the city centre will be within public transportation of LNEC.

About Portugal and Lisbon
